1/4 cup Butter
1/4 C flour
8 cups Water
1 onion
1 package frozen California Style Veggies (I use 2 pkgs)
3 cooked and cubed chicken breasts
1 package boilded tortellini
1 cup shredded cheese
2 cups half and half
Make rue: saute one onion with butter add flour after soft. Add 8 cups water and 8 cubes chicken bullion. Bring to boil. Add veggies, chicken and tortellini. Stop boiling and add one cup shredded cheese and 2 cups half and half. (Recipe stolen from Miss Lacey Hilliard)

Crock Pot Oatmeal
1 cup Steel Cut Oats
1 1/2 Cups Milk
1 1/2 Cups water
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
2 apples peeled cut small
1 tsp Cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter
Cook on low for four hours. Serve. (recipe stolen from Mojo)

Pumpkin bread
3 cups sugar
1 cup cooking oil
4 eggs
3 1/3 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1.5 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
2/3 cup water
1 15 ounce can pumpkin
Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon on top. Cook at 350 for 55 to 65 minutes. Makes 2 loaves. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes.

Quick Chicken Soup
3/4 lb chicken (about 2 cups cut up)
2 medium stalks celery
2 medium carrots
1 medium onion
2 cloves garlic
4 cans (14.5 oz each) chicken broth
1 cup frozen green peas
1 tbsp fresh or 1 tsp parsley flakes
1 tbsp chopped fresh or 1 tsp dried thyme leaves
1/4 tsp pepper
1 dry bay leaf
1 cup uncooked gemelli or rotini pasta ( I use old fashioned noodles)
Cut chicken, Slice celery, peel and slice carrots, peel and chop onion. Peel and finely chop garlic. Heat the chicken, vegetables, and seasoning to boil over high heat. Stir in pasta. Heat to boiling over high heat, Stirling occasionally to prevent sticking. Once mixture is boiling reduce heat just enough so mixture bubbles gently.
Cook uncovered 10 to 15 min. Stirring occasionally until pasta is tender and vegetables are tender when pierced with a fork. Remove and discard bay leaf.

Julene's Potato Soup
5 potatoes (cubed)
5 cups water
5 chicken bullion cubes
half and half
2 cups cheese

1 cup dates cut in smallish piecespour 1 1/2 cups hot water over the dateswhen cool add 1 tsp sodacream together:1 c. sugar3/4 c. shortening or butter1 tsp vanilla2 eggsadd 2 cups flour1 tsp cinnamon3/4 tsp saltAdd the date mixture and mix all the batterpour in a greased pan and sprinkle 1/2 C. brown sugar, 1 pkg chocolate chips chocolate chips and 1 c. walnuts on top and bake 350 for 40 min.
